![]() ![]() Talking about stability, the Memorialist building will give you stability even if no one is working in it. Stability will affect your empire's productivity to keep an eye on it. Happiness is irrelevant to Gestalts so only employ enough maintenance drones to keep your stability up. Rush Hanger tech to protect your borders at the start of the game. But that can be left up to preference, I just don't want to miss out on extra pops and the earlier you get your colonies set up the better. I almost always open with Expansion traditions and get Mastery of Nature when it comes to Hive Minds. (Definitely don't do Repugnant at least since they only give 3.) New Colonies can reach almost 10 pop with just a single Spawning drone, and as pointed out give 5 instead of 4. Yeah Charismatic Maintenance drones are quite a big deal. Tree of Life is nice for non-devouring swarms as who doesn't want extra districts and growth speed? It opens up a whole lot of planets for colonization that you wouldn't have been able to properly build up until later in the game. ![]() Yes there is stronger origins but it's pretty decent. Post Apocalyptic isn't so bad for Hiveminds. So you see the problem, one civic is nice to do manual resettling, while the other capitalizes on workers being unemployed. Neural Network is nice for pops to be jobless since they give free research, which is very nice when simply waiting for pops to auto resettle. Subsumed Will is good for you to manually move your pops around, but they move on their own automatically fairly highly for Hiveminds anyways, you still get the -10%? Administration pop cost. Subsumed Will isn't a half bad trait and neither is Natural Neural Network, I feel however they kind of nullify each other in a way. But if building your Hivemind for next time, Empath works well if you want to play nice with others.Īscetics is also a very good Empire civic you want to use next time if not going random as that reduces the amenities needed by 15%. It helps to know if you want to play Devouring Swarm or not, and the difficulty you play on as well, but if you like those tips I can give you some more general ones, those are the ones I can think up of off the top of my head. Once you've got the monthly resources to open the Synapse Drones jobs, these "nesting" colonies will are actually quite useful as they increase your Administration Capacity while providing pops to colonies with higher hab planets. Any new pops will resettle to your core planets. Turn off all jobs (Which you should be doing for all other colonies until you can support the energy and food requirements of Synapse Drones) and build a Spawning pool asap. You can swap to generalist to not have any negatives after about 10 years, but sometimes I keep extraction on for 20 or so years and then swap to Manufactoring policy.ĭon't be afraid to settle yellow and even red planets. My general go-to early game is to keep it as close to 0, but come mid and late game I don't mind having a few extra workers if the colony is growing and having an extra miner or two doesn't matter.ĭay 1 set to Extraction Policy so your produce a lot more raw materials early on when it matters. Keep your amenities as close to 0 without going into the negatives. May not seem like much, but means more drones can work actual productive jobs. I'll add to this as a first tip, you'll want your species to also have Charismatic, as that increases amenities produced from 4 to 5. Yes you will want to limit your Maintenance Drone jobs. I assume bio hive mind so I'll start with the specific question you asked: ![]()
